Courses That We Recommend That You Take Concurrently
- Cancer and chemo – Cancer/chemotherapy is also very much sought after as 1 in every 2 women and 1 in every 3 men will develop cancer during their lifetime. Cancer care is very popular.
- Dementia and Alzheimer’s with Parkinson’s disease: Recognised by the Alzheimer’s Association of the world. Every 1st world country is looking for this qualification as every 3 to 4 seconds a person is diagnosed with this disease.
- Hospice and Palliative care: Palliative care is for when patients are still hopeful in the last years in their life for a possible cure and hospice for the last few months to just be comfortable before the end.
- If you would like to do the palliative or hospice courses, please ask for more information.
- Mental illness can be a big topic and therefore I recommend you research and look at what you would like to study. It can be difficult to determine sometimes exactly what the person is going through unless you have a good understanding of everything. Although dementia/Alzheimer’s patients may look as if they have a mental disorder they do not. They are classified under neurodegenerative diseases. So, as you can see this a topic that needs to be understood. I highly recommend you also look at studying at least dementia or Alzheimer’s to get a better understanding between a mental and neurodegenerative diseases.
- If you are looking at studying child growth, then also study working with infants’ module. The 2 courses go hand in hand.
- Understanding pain management is one module that all healthcare providers must know. This topic is not negotiable as all patients have the right to pain management.
- Whichever module you choose you will be better educated before as all the courses are new and brilliant. Internationally recognised for you to travel.
- The cost of each of the above nurse aid courses is R2800 – 00. With these you add to your existing profile and you do specialised courses. Remember the more you can do the more employable you become!
