5 DAY COURSE

This course consists of 4 units covering everything you need to successfully enter the industry as a Stewardess. Blended with personal experience and knowledge this is the gold standard of yacht training.

Unit 23 | Introduction” to the Interior department & role of an interior crew member

  • What is Yachting and what to expect in the industry.
  • The demographics of the yachting sector and the "who's who's" of the sector.
  • How to write a professional CV and search for a position successfully within the industry.
  • Introduction to a life at sea & maintaining health and wellbeing
  • Seamanship and basic seamanship terminology
  • Introduction to the onboard departments and the hierarchy and chain of command.
  • Standards of personal presentation and personal etiquette.
  • Standards of the required attention to detail on board a yacht.
  • The importance of communication, discretion and your role as part of a team.
  • The essence of etiquette, interacting with guests and cultural differences.

Unit 32 | GUEST Basic Housekeeping & Laundry

  • Professional presentation and detailing of cabins, bathrooms and other guest areas.
  • Cleaning & maintaining luxury fabrics, surfaces & finishings.
  • Familiarisation with common products used on yachts and their uses.
  • Basic professional laundry procedures and laundry duties.
  • Laundry best practices for a successful stewardess
  • Health & Safety in the Maritime industry.

Unit 02 | GUEST Basic Food & Beverage

  • Principles of guest food & beverage Service.
  • Standards of presentation & etiquette expected.
  • The different food service styles & techniques.
  • Introduction to food & beverage service onboard a yacht.
  • Preparation of mise en place for the service areas onboard.
  • Food Safety procedures & practices.
  • Dietary & cultural food & beverage requirements.

Unit 03 | GUEST Basic Wine, Bartending & Mixology

  • Basics on the world of wine.
  • Regions and grapes of the world relevant to the yachting industry.
  • Basic principles of professional wine service.
  • Correct wine storage on-board a yacht.
  • Wine tasting and food pairing practical
  • The main spirits & classic service for spirits.
  • Using the required tools for cocktail making.
  • Methods used to prepare cocktails.
  • Cocktail making practical

Yacht Steward/Stewardess

  • Yacht Steward/Stewardess: As a steward or stewardess, you would be responsible for delivering high-end service to guests on luxury yachts, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction throughout their stay. Duties include housekeeping, serving meals, managing guest requests, and maintaining the yacht’s interior.
  • Chief Stewardess: A more senior role, the Chief Stewardess supervises a team of stewards and stewardesses, ensuring that the yacht’s interior, guest service, and operations run smoothly. You will be in charge of training and overseeing the service team.

Yacht Hospitality Manager

  • Yacht Hospitality Manager: Manage the overall guest experience aboard a luxury yacht. This role involves organizing events, overseeing the service of food and drinks, and coordinating with the yacht’s captain and crew to ensure that guests have a seamless and luxurious experience.

Yacht Chef

  • Yacht Chef: As a chef on a luxury yacht, you would be responsible for preparing gourmet meals for guests, often requiring a high level of skill in preparing international cuisine, specialty diets, and managing the galley (kitchen) space on board. A G.U.E.S.T. certification would complement your culinary skills by improving your ability to deliver impeccable service.

Deckhand/Interior Crew

  • Deckhand: Though primarily responsible for the exterior maintenance of the yacht (including safety and navigation tasks), a deckhand with hospitality training can also assist with interior duties, helping with guest services when needed.
  • Interior Crew Member: Working as part of the team responsible for the yacht's interior, you’ll be ensuring that the spaces are maintained to a high standard, from housekeeping to guest services. This may include assisting with arranging furniture, preparing guest cabins, and managing supplies.

Guest Relations Officer

  • Guest Relations Officer: This role focuses on managing guest expectations and ensuring they have an exceptional experience. The Guest Relations Officer liaises between the crew and the guests, handling any requests or issues that may arise. A hospitality program like G.U.E.S.T. equips you to handle these duties with professionalism and finesse.

Yacht Service Attendant

  • Service Attendant: This role focuses on attending to guest needs, serving food and drinks, maintaining the cleanliness of the yacht's dining and leisure areas, and ensuring all guest areas are prepared and stocked for optimum comfort.

Luxury Yacht Event Coordinator

  • Yacht Event Coordinator: Organize events and special functions on board luxury yachts. This may include birthday parties, corporate gatherings, weddings, or other private events. The course will help you understand how to deliver an exceptional guest experience, focusing on luxury service and high attention to detail.

Yacht Spa or Wellness Coordinator

  • Spa or Wellness Coordinator: Many luxury yachts have dedicated spa and wellness areas. As a spa or wellness coordinator, you would manage treatments, ensure a relaxing environment, and coordinate wellness services for guests, including massage, fitness sessions, and wellness therapies.

Yacht Management or Operations Assistant

  • Yacht Operations Assistant: This role combines hospitality and management skills to ensure that the yacht’s operations run smoothly. You would assist in managing staff, coordinating logistics, and ensuring that guest services align with the overall operational goals of the yacht.

Luxury Yacht Concierge

  • Concierge: As a concierge, you would be responsible for anticipating and fulfilling the needs of yacht guests, from arranging shore excursions to booking on-board entertainment or organizing bespoke services. The G.U.E.S.T. program prepares you to handle guest requests with discretion and precision.

Private Yacht Family Crew

  • Private Yacht Crew Member: Work as a part of a family crew on a private yacht, providing personal services, ensuring a high standard of comfort for the family and guests on board, and assisting in day-to-day operations and event planning on the yacht.

Superyacht Crew Recruitment Consultant

  • Crew Recruitment Consultant: Use your hospitality training to work in the recruitment sector, specializing in placing qualified yacht hospitality professionals in luxury yacht roles. This could involve liaising with yacht owners and agencies to find the best talent for specific yacht positions.

Marine Tour Guide
